A train trip to the past with Mastercard at the II Edition of Madrid Hotel Week

Once again, Mastercard' s Priceless Cities Program has been present in this second edition of Madrid Hotel Week.

In this new edition, 40 Mastercard cardholders were able to enjoy a trip back in time aboard the Tren Prestigio, a spectacular train from the 1920s, last 10 November , while having breakfast on board, followed by a guided tour of Palacio in Aranjuez and a lunch specially prepared for the occasion in the restaurant car.

 This train, manufactured between 1926 and 1930 in different workshops in the United Kingdom, France and Spain, was acquired by RENFE in 1988 to modernize it and form a period composition to make a luxury train with a total of 145 seats. In the reconstruction, the entire interior was disassembled and the aesthetics of the 1920s were maintained, but with the comfort and convenience of today.

During the trip, attendees were able to tour the different spaces and cars of this historic train: kitchen, theater, sleeping car or restaurant car, which has been a unique opportunity to see how this train worked as a real Hotel at the time.
